Settings to note prior to change
In order to ensure that after you replace your unit you have all information needed to set up the new unit for service you should take note of the following information:
- Current Beam (From Home page by going to LBand > Status)
Beam: .
- RTCM Stations (From Home page by going to LBand > Config > RTCMa (or) RTCMb)
Note down Enabled stations for both RTCMa and RTCMb (Ex: 32 of 32)
- Antenna Power LBand (From Home page by selecting LBand > Antenna is off/on.
- Antenna Power GNSS (From Home page by selecting GNSS > Antenna is off/on.
- PPS settings (From Home page by going to GNSS > Config). Note down PPS and Polarity.
- NMEA Config (From Home page by going to GNSS > Config > NMEA Config). Note down messages enabled.
- SBAS Config (From Home page by going to GNSS > Config > NMEA Config > SBAS Config). Note down is enabled or disabled.
- Inputs/Outputs (Found from the Home page by selecting Settings > I/O).
While in this menu toggle through the available Com ports and be sure to note the source, data, Line and Rate for each configured output.

- Network Settings (Found from Home page by selecting Settings > Network > Status). Select LAN1 and note down IP address and Mode. Do same for LAN2.
- Solutions if running on LD6 Mode: From Home screen select Solutions > Config and note down Service and Elevation Mask. Then select PPP service and note what Current service is. Found from Home page by selecting Solutions and go to NMEA. Take not of the settings from the three possible solutions: The service and what messages have been selected.

- Solutions if running on QC Mode: Make sure to save the config by selecting file and save (If the file is not saved before enter the file name and click save). Then insert a USB Memory device on a free USB ports on LD6 and Select File Manager by selecting Actions > Apps > File Manager on Home screen. Once File Manager opens select Config folder and choose the required folder and save in to USB memory device by creating folder structure LD6ImportExport-VQC-Config. (You can save more than one config inside Config folder created.)
Note: Check inside the saved folder “.alm, .aps,.t3m and VerifyQC Files and folders Events and History” are all available.
- Solutions if running in Orion Mode: Go to Configuration on Orion Screen and note down the following settings.
- Select Heading Tab if Heading is enable note down the Type.
- Select Motion Tab and note down all settings of Speed, Scale and Track Plot
- Select Target Tab and note down all the settings of Targets.
- Select Vessel Tab and note down Antenna Offset and Vessel settings.

- MF (if MF card installed) (Found from Home page by selecting MF and then go to Config). Note down Current mode.
- UHF (if UHF card installed) (Found from Home page by selecting UHF and then go to Config). Note down Current station.

- External Connections – Take note of what external connections have been made and to what location they have been made. This is to ensure that when the units are swapped you can reinstate the connections as they previously were but on the new unit.
STEPS to Re CONFIGURING LD6:
- Select the L-Band Beam
From the Home screen select LBand > Config > Beams
Click Edit
Select the desired beam from the list and select Enable
Select Close and Home.
- Set the RTCM stations:
From the Home screen select LBand > Config > RTCMa (or) RTCMb
Click Edit
Select the desired stations from the list. (By default all stations will be enable on both RTCMa and RTCMb)
Select Close and select Home
- Set the Antenna Power LBand:
From the Home screen select LBand > Config > Antenna is XXX. By touching Antenna button can change ON/OFF. Do accordingly by noted prior settings.
- Set the Antenna Power LBand:
From the Home screen select GNSS > Config > Antenna is XXX. By touching Antenna button can change ON/OFF. Do accordingly by noted prior settings.
- PPS settings:
From the Home screen select GNSS > Config > Edit
Select the desired Polarity from the list and enter
Select close and select Home.
- Set the NMEA Config:
From the Home screen select GNSS > Config > NMEA Config
Click Edit
Select the desired NMEA messages from the list
- Set SBAS Config:
From the Home screen select GNSS > Config > NMEA Config > SBAS Config
Choose either Enable or Disable by prior noted settings.
- Set the Inputs and Outputs
From the Home screen select Settings/I/O
Select the desired Port from the list and select Next
Using the up/ Down Arrows select the Source from the list then select the right arrow and select Data from the List then select Next
Select the Line standard and click Next
Select BaudRate settings and select Finish
When the warning message appears, select Yes
Repeat the steps above until all required ports are configured.
- Set the Network Settings:
From the Home screen select Settings > Network > Config.
Choose the desired LAN port from left hand side to change.
Select Next
Choose Either Static or Dynamic as per prior noted.
Edit the IP address by moving left and right for cursor. And up and down to edit.
Make sure to check the both LAN ports and Edit if necessary.
- Set the solutions to run on LD6 Mode
From the Home Screen select Solutions and then config and Edit to input the elevation mask.
Then select close and select PPP service. By default it will be ULTRA and select USE APEX to change to APEX. When the warning message appears, select Yes. (PPP service has been set will be either Ultra or Apex)
From the Home screen select Solutions > NMEA
Select the desired solution from the list and click Next
Select the desired Service from the list and click Next
Select all required NMEA messages from the list and click Enable (multiple messages can be enabled). When all required messages are enabled select Finish
When the warning message appears, select Yes
- Solutions if running on QC Mode:
After factory reset by default it will go to LD6 mode. To change to QC mode from Home screen select Actions > Apps > QC mode. Select Yes when warning message appears.
When QC screen opens on the external monitor select OK on Advanced options window.
Then Insert USB Memory device which got saved config.
Then select File on QC screen and select open from E:\LD6ImportExport\VQC\Config.
Choose the desired saved config to open from the list if more than saved config.
- Solutions if running on Orion Mode:
After factory reset by default it will go to LD6 mode. To change to ORION mode from Home screen select Actions and then Apps and then select Launch Orion. Select Yes when warning message appears.
Select Configuration on Orion Screen and select
o Select Heading Tab and Select Enable and choose the Type.
o Select Motion Tab and input Speed, Scale, and Track Point.
o Select Target Tab and input all noted settings.
o Select Vessel Tab and input Antenna offset and vessel
MF card if installed:
From Home Screen select MF and then select Config and Edit to change the mode.
- UHF card if installed:
From Home Screen select UHF and then select config and choose the channel.
